Renowned Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi recently shared the intriguing story behind his decision to take the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam, revealing that it was a challenge set by his mother. Abbasi made this revelation during his appearance on a podcast, where he discussed a wide range of personal and professional topics.

According to Hamza, his mother set a condition that if he passed the CSS exam, she would be satisfied, even if he didn’t pursue a job afterward. Motivated by the challenge, Hamza not only passed the exam but scored higher than expected. His strong knowledge of current affairs helped him excel, and he was offered a position in the police department. However, despite his mother’s encouragement to accept the job, Hamza ultimately decided to reject it, realizing that a career as a government officer was not suited to his personality.

In his candid conversation, Hamza also opened up about his time away from acting, during which he focused on understanding Islam more deeply. He revealed that renowned scholar Javed Ahmad Ghamidi provided him with insightful answers to many of his religious questions, giving him peace of mind.

The actor further shared some personal challenges from his childhood, including a serious kidney failure when he was just eight years old. He mentioned that his family feared he might not survive, but he was too young to remember many details.

Hamza also praised the women in his life, highlighting his sister, Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, a prominent dermatologist, and his wife, actress Naimal Khawar, who runs a makeup business. He also spoke highly of his mother, who has had a significant career as a lawyer and former member of the National Assembly.

In a light-hearted moment, Hamza humorously credited his flawless skin to his sister’s expertise, joking that he doesn’t need makeup because of her skincare advice. Despite his varied career and familial accomplishments, Hamza emphasized that his true calling was never in government service.
