New Delhi: In Sanatan Dharma, every day has some special significance, especially in which there are beliefs to gods and planets. Monday is especially dedicated to Lord Shiva and Moon. Worship and fasting of Lord Shiva is especially organized on this day. Along with this, some small measures are also adopted, if followed, peace, mental stability and balance is maintained in life.
It is said in astrology that some food items should be avoided on Monday, so that the position of the Moon remains correct in the horoscope and there is a positive effect in life. If these things are consumed on Monday, it can weaken the Moon, which can increase mental unrest and stress.
Brinjal should not be consumed on Monday. Brinjal comes in the category of tamasic food, which hinders satvik thoughts. Consuming it increases laziness and aggressiveness, due to which the mind cannot remain calm and it becomes difficult to concentrate.
Black sesame is considered to be to Shani Dev. Consuming black sesame seeds on Monday can make the mind heavy, which is not considered suitable for worshiping Lord Shiva and mental peace. Therefore, black sesame should be avoided on this day.
Garlic and onion are considered tamasic food. Consuming these increases mental excitement, which can hinder attention and concentration. Both these things should be completely avoided on Monday, so that mental peace is maintained and the mind can be completely concentrated in worship.
One should not eat extremely bitter or astringent things like Neem or bitter fruits on Monday. Moon is considered to be the cause of phlegm and bile and consumption of these things increases phlegm and bile, which can increase the effect of irritability and negativity.
Consumption of meat and alcohol is considered prohibited on Monday. These cause disturbance in body and mind, and increase emotional instability. This reduces the auspiciousness of the Moon, which affects the positive energy.
By eating these things on Monday, the Moon becomes weak in the horoscope. Its effect is visible on mind and emotions. Tamasic food increases unrest, anger and tension in the mind. At the same time, eating satvik food like fruits, milk, light food calms the mind and purifies thoughts.
