Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed has issued a public clarification after facing backlash for his controversial comments regarding social media creators. The actor, who had earlier referred to social media creators as “hellbound,” explained that he was referring to the owners and creators of social media platforms, not the content creators themselves.

Zahid Ahmed made these remarks during an appearance on Ahmed Butt’s podcast, where, in response to a question, he criticized social media creators, stating, “All social media creators are Satanic, and they will burn in hell.” At the time, the actor had not clearly distinguished between the platform owners and content creators. He further criticized content creators for promoting indecency, self-absorption, and fostering unhealthy competition among one another.

These comments quickly sparked outrage among social media influencers and content creators, who took to various platforms to call out Zahid Ahmed for his remarks. In light of the controversy, the actor took to Instagram to issue an apology and provide clarity on his earlier statement.

In a video posted on his Instagram, Zahid Ahmed admitted his mistake, stating that he had wrongfully labeled certain individuals as “hellbound,” a decision that was not his to make. “It is not my place to call anyone ‘hellbound,’ as that is a judgment only for God,” he explained. Zahid acknowledged that his words had caused a misunderstanding, particularly in relation to Islam, and he felt it was important to address his error.

The actor clarified that he had been referring to the creators of social media platforms, not content creators themselves, but acknowledged that his statement was a mistake. He promised not to repeat such comments in the future and apologized to anyone who felt hurt by his remarks.
