The report also states that cyber attackers are now paying maximum attention to the energy sector. There has been a shocking increase of 387 percent in the number of attacks on this sector compared to last year. Along with this, attacks on manufacturing and transportation sectors are also increasing rapidly. According to experts, with the increasing use of digitalization, security risks in these areas have also doubled.

Fake apps increase danger, downloaded crores of times

According to Zscaler report, more than 200 Malaysian apps were found on Google Play Store, which were downloaded more than 42 million times worldwide. These apps mislead users by claiming to be productivity and workflow utility tools. Despite Google’s strict monitoring, cyber criminals succeed in listing such fake apps. The real purpose of these apps is to steal users’ personal data, install malware or carry out ransomware attacks.
