The Narkatiya assembly constituency is located in the East Champaran district of Bihar. It is classified as a general seat and is currently held by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Over the years, various political parties, including RJD, Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)], and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), have governed this seat. The first elections for this constituency were conducted in 2010, and it was previously known as Shikarpur. Local issues significantly influence the electoral outcomes in this region.
