New e-Aadhaar App: Aadhaar cards make many tasks easier, from financial to household needs. Whether it's getting a birth certificate, a ration card, opening a bank account, or even an Ayushman card, Aadhaar cards have become essential for all kinds of needs. People used to need to carry their Aadhaar cards with them, but now the government has created a system that eliminates the need to carry them everywhere. The government has launched a new e-Aadhaar app, allowing you to carry your Aadhaar on your smartphone.

The government has launched the e-Aadhaar app, eliminating the need to carry your physical Aadhaar card everywhere. UIDAI has posted on X regarding this, stating that a smarter way to carry your digital identity with you has arrived. The new Aadhaar app is a useful app for anywhere, anytime, with enhanced security, easy access, and a completely paperless experience.

Your Digital Identity Will Be More Secure

The security of your Aadhaar card will be further strengthened through this e-Aadhaar. The e-Aadhaar app will display the last four digits of your Aadhaar card. As for your date of birth, only the year will be visible. This e-Aadhaar app will facilitate many tasks, such as QR codes, Face ID, and digital identity, making your digital identity even more secure.

UIDAI has stated that Aadhaar cardholders will find it easier to store their Aadhaar information in digital format through this app. Although Indian citizens can already store a PDF version of their card or an online card on their phone through DigiLocker, the new app will offer users a new user-friendly interface and a two-step process for processing Aadhaar details.

Learn how to use the new e-Aadhaar app

To use the new e-Aadhaar app, you will first need to download it from the Play Store or App Store.

You will then need to select your preferred language and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.

The app will prompt you to send an OTP via SMS to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number.

When you enter the OTP received via SMS, you will be redirected to face authentication.

Once face authentication is complete, you will need to enter a 6-digit password.

You will then be able to view your Aadhaar card on the app's profile page.

You can also create a mask, share it, and set a biometric lock.

You can follow the same process to add four more Aadhaar profiles to this app.
