Age relaxation for direct recruitment to ex-firefighters, big decision of Haryana government

Haryana Government has decided to give relaxation in upper age limit in direct recruitment to ex-fire veterans who are natives of the state. There will be a relaxation of 3 years for Group 'B' and 'C' posts and 5 years for the first batch. All departments have been instructed to follow this.

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has decided to relax the upper age limit for ex-firefighters who are natives of the state during direct recruitment after completing military service. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has issued a letter in this regard. As per the decision of the government, ex-fire veterans will get relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit prescribed for direct recruitment to Group 'B' and Group 'C' posts. Additionally, members of the first batch of ex-Agniveers will get age relaxation of 5 years.

All departments, boards, corporations, universities and regional offices have been instructed to strictly follow these instructions. On June 17, the Government of India amended the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961 by issuing a gazette notification. Under this amendment, the responsibility has been officially assigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to coordinate and facilitate the career advancement of those Agniveers who exit the armed forces after completing four years of service.


The gazette notification reads, "In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (3) of article 77 of the Constitution, the President makes the following rules further to amend the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961."


According to the notification, MHA will serve as the nodal ministry, working closely with various central ministries, departments and state/UT governments. The Gazette notification further states, “In the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, in the Second Schedule, under the heading “Ministry of Home Affairs (Home Affairs)”, the sub-heading “B. "Department of States (Department of States)", after entry 18, the following entry shall be inserted, namely:- "19. To coordinate activities for the further advancement of ex-fire veterans."
