The most reliable car anywhere on UK roads has been unveiled by one of the top motoring mechanics in the country. Mike Brewer, host of the popular classic car restoration series Wheeler Dealers, has admitted that one brand stands out as one of the best in the industry.

After years in the car industry, repairing and restoring everything from Land Rovers to BMWs, Ferraris to Porsches, Mike admits that the South Korean brand Kia is simply the best. Kia is slowly becoming a favourite in the UK, with the Sportage now one of the best-selling models in the country. The host of the TV show stressed Kia's are never returned by customers after leaving his One Automotive dealership. It's a sign that customers are experiencing little to no issues with their models.

Speaking to Expess.co.uk, Mike explained: "I would say Kia. Kia, Hyundai, these new Chinese companies like BYD, they are really getting good reviews in terms of the cars they offer, their reliability and how they perform.

"All of the Asian, Japanese brands have always had that great reputation for reliability, but then so have the German brands as well, there are still good cars out there. At the top of my list at the moment from my personal experience selling cars from One Automotive, when we are selling a Kia we never see them come back."

According to analysis from WhatCar? Kia has always enjoyed a "very good reputation for reliability". The experts said that owners have reported that only 20% of their cars had any issues across the previous two years.

He stressed that Kia was also one of the best brands for fixing any faults that arise with vehicles repaired completely free of charge.

A closer look at the data shows that 91% of owners didn't have to pay a penny for the cost of repairing faults with their models.

Mike added: "If we sell thirty Transits a month, if we sell a Ford Transit we might see one come back for an engine warning light or a small problem that may appear, but if we sell a Kia we wave goodbye to them and never see them again."
