Police issue major update as woman stabbed outside Asda supermarket

A 40-year-old woman has been charged for multiple offences following a stabbing outside an Asda supermarket. Armed officers arrived to the supermarket in Arleston Lane, Sinfin, Derby after 8.35pm on November 5.

Police found a woman in her 40s with a non life-threatening injury to her arm and hand and she was taken to hospital, Derbyshire Police said. Officers have arrested and charged Lisa Kelly, of Burton Road, Derby, in relation to the incident. The 40-year-old was charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of Class A drugs, theft and two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The woman has been remanded into custody and was due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team are reassuring the community's safety concerns by conducting extra patrols in the area following the incident.
