Ajinkya Naik becomes President of Mumbai Cricket Association for the second time

Mumbai The Ajinkya Naik panel has registered a spectacular victory in the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) elections. Naik has been elected president unopposed for the second consecutive time. His panel captured 12 of the total 16 positions.

“This is a victory for our ground clubs, secretaries and every cricketer — male and female. This is a victory for the entire Mumbai cricket family,” Naik said after the results were announced on Wednesday night.

Ajinkya Naik had the support of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and former MCA, BCCI and ICC president Sharad Pawar.

He said, “This success was possible with the strong support of Honorable Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ji and Sharad Pawar ji. I also express my special gratitude to Ashish Shelar ji.”

Naik’s panel had contested the elections in the name of “Pawar-Shelar Group”.

Other officials in the election are as follows –
Unmesh Khanvilkar was elected Secretary (he defeated Shahalam Shaikh)
Jitendra Awhad became the Vice President (he defeated Naveen Shetty)
Nilesh Bhosale was elected Joint Secretary (he defeated Gaurav Payyade)
Armaan Malik became Treasurer (he defeated Surendra Shewale)
Apart from this, Sandeep Vichare, Suraj Samat, Vighnesh Kadam, Milind Naravanekar, Bhushan Patil, Nadeem Memon, Vikas Repale, Pramod Yadav and Neil Sawant have been elected as members of the Apex Council of MCA.
