Media Lab is the main demand of the students, who are protesting for the department to create a media lab.

According to the students, three years ago, the university administration made a commitment to establish a media lab.

Despite promises made during each academic term, the lab has not yet been built.

The students assert that although the Vice-Chancellor promised them at the start of the current term that the lab would be opened on November 14, the work has not even begun.

Late into the night, the students persisted in their protest, saying they would only call off the sit-in if the vice chancellor personally visited and gave them the assurance that their requests would be fulfilled.

Additional Requirements

Apart from setting the media lab’s foundation stone right away, the students are also asking for:

All students will receive a half tuition refund.

The restoration of their deteriorating classroom.

The smart board’s installation.

University Reaction

University representatives, including Proctor Dr. TN Mishra and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shantanu Rastogi, came to the spot after hearing about the demonstration. Despite their attempts to reason with the kids, they persisted in their demonstration.
