Bihar Election 2025 – The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has achieved a historic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections after 15 years. The NDA set a significant record by winning 202 seats in this election. For the first time in Bihar’s history, the BJP became the largest party, winning 89 seats.
Nitish Kumar’s JDU came in second, winning 85 seats. Following the overwhelming support for the NDA in Bihar, questions are now being raised about who will be the state’s next Chief Minister. Currently, every NDA leader seems to be refraining from making any open claims about this. The election was fought on the face of Nitish Kumar’s development and leadership, but now the situation seems to be getting complicated.
The NDA contested the elections on the face of Nitish Kumar, who has earned the image of Sushasan Babu. In the results, the BJP emerged as the largest party. The JDU benefited more this time than the BJP in the 2020 Assembly elections. No one seems to be openly saying who the NDA will appoint as Chief Minister.
However, after the victory, senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary visited Nitish Kumar at his residence. PM Modi also congratulated him on his victory, signaling a positive response by mentioning Nitish Kumar’s name. However, suspense remains over his candidature. The BJP has yet to elect its own Chief Minister in Bihar. Consequently, most party leaders and workers aspire to have a BJP CM.
Many prominent names are vying for the Chief Minister position in Bihar. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s name is also leading the race. He won the Tarapur Assembly election. Renu Devi, the second-ranked candidate, is also being considered for the CM position.
Renu Devi won a landslide victory in the Bettiah election. If the BJP elects her as Chief Minister, it would be a major blow to the JDU. JDU workers and supporters want Nitish Kumar to become Chief Minister once again.
