By Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). iPhonehas issued a high-severity security warning for several Apple products, including the iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Safari, tvOS and Xcode. Several vulnerabilities could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code, gain elevated privileges, access sensitive information, bypass security restrictions, or cause a denial of service on affected devices, the advisory said. Due to which users’ data may be at risk.

Effects on these products

iOS and iPadOS versions earlier than 26.1

(This affects iPhone 11 and later models, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 8th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.) macOS Sequoia versions before 15.1, macOS Ventura before 13.7.1, and macOS Monterey prior to 12.7.2

  • watchOS versions prior to 11.1
  • tvOS versions prior to 18.1
  • Safari versions prior to 17.6.1
  • visionOS versions prior to 2.1
  • Xcode versions earlier than 15.4

The advisory states that these vulnerabilities affect the kernel, WebKit, CoreAnimation, Siri and other system components used in Apple devices. CERT-In has given it a high severity rating due to potential risks. If the vulnerabilities are exploited, attackers can:

  • Can execute arbitrary code on the device.
  • Can get elevated privileges
  • May access or leak sensitive information
  • Can alter or corrupt data.
  • Can bypass security restrictions.
  • Can cause denial-of-service or system crashes
  • Spoofing system components

Several CVEs are also mentioned in the advisory. This includes CVE-2025-43442, CVE-2025-43455, CVE-2025-43462, CVE-2025-43449, CVE-2025-43379 and other CVEs affecting different layers of the system.

What do users want to do?

CERT-In advises that users immediately update their devices to the latest available software version released by Apple. These patches include security fixes for all reported vulnerabilities and apply to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, Safari, and Xcode.
