Growing trend of romance in office

Nowadays, most of the people spend their time in office, due to which incidents of workplace romance are on the rise. This is considered a common thing in foreign countries, and now this trend is increasing rapidly in India too. A recent study has shed light on this topic. A survey conducted by Ashley Madison, the famous app for extramarital affairs, has revealed some shocking figures. According to this international study, India is far ahead in terms of office romance.

The study, conducted in collaboration with YouGov, involved 13,581 participants from 11 countries. This included Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, UK and US. Mexico is at first place in this list, while India is at second place. You may be surprised to know this, but it is true. Studies show that one in four Indians in the general population has either dated or is currently dating a peer.

Mexico’s first place

Mexico leads the list, where 43 percent of participants said they have been in a romantic relationship with a co-worker. Whereas in India this figure is 40 percent. This figure is much higher than countries like America, Britain and Canada, where it is only 30 percent. Interestingly, the men surveyed admitted to having affairs in the office more often than the women. 51 percent of men confirmed this, while for women this number was 36 percent.

Tendency of office affair in men

The women surveyed showed more caution in balancing their personal and professional lives. About 29 percent of women said that they stay away from office affairs to avoid disruption in work, while only 27 percent of men believed so. Overall, it was found that men are more open and accepting of office romance. However, younger employees are more cautious about this matter, especially when they feel it may affect their careers.
