New Delhi: In the first Test between India and South Africa being played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata Ravindra Jadeja once again proved why he is considered one of the most reliable all-rounders in world cricket. Bowling in the second innings he took 4 wickets for 29 runs in 13 overs setting a unique world record by reaching 150 wickets in the World Test Championship (WTC). 150 wickets and 1500 runs in the WTC - Jadeja becomes the first player in the world By dismissing Tristan Stubbs Jadeja completed his 150 wickets in the WTC. With this he became the only cricketer in the world to have achieved 1500+ runs and 150+ wickets in the WTC. Jadejas impressive journey in the WTC so far This Test is Jadejas 47th match in the WTC taking his total to 2532 runs and 150 wickets. His batting average of 43.65 and best bowling figures of 7/42 reflect his all-round class. Third among Indians to take 150 wickets in the World Test Championship Before Jadeja only Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah had achieved this feat. Now Jadeja has joined this elite club. In total only seven bowlers have taken 150+ wickets in the World Test Championship. Completes 250 Test wickets in India – Joins the elite club Stubbs wicket was not only his 150th in the World Test Championship but also Jadejas 250th Test wicket in India. He became only the fourth Indian to achieve this feat after Anil Kumble Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin. Another milestone in Jadejas career Jadeja scored 27 runs in Indias first innings also completing 4000 runs in Test cricket. He is only the fourth player in the world and the second in India to complete the double of 4000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket.
