An expert foodie has shared the clever way to get bacon crispier when you cook it in the air fryer, and it only takes an extra two minutes. Bacon is a staple of a full English breakfast, but it is used in a slew of other dishes as well, such as burgers and pastas. This deliciously salty, and often cost-friendly, food item has remained a favourite for Brits for generations. Every household likely has its go-to way of cooking bacon, and many opt for the air fryer because it is easy and means far less cleaning up.

Sarah Rossi, who is the founder of Taming Twins, has revealed her go-to way to cook bacon in the air fryer, saying that it gets it "perfectly crispy" every time. Plus, it needs no oil and cooks quickly, with no time spent standing over a spitting frying pan. She has conducted a lot of tests when it comes to cooking bacon in an air fryer, and she has decided that this is the best way to do it. Plus, you can cook as much bacon as you can fit in your air fryer with this method.

Instead of oil, she uses the fat of the bacon to cook it in the air fryer. The method can be used for lean bacon or even streaky bacon.

She doesn't line the air fryer tray, but places a sheet of foil under the tray. However, you should check if this is possible for you first, as not all air fryers would allow you to do this safely.

Firstly, she preheats the air fryer to 200C. Once it is heated enough, she places the bacon in the air fryer for five minutes. She says that after this, you can simply drain the fat and eat it straight away. However, there is an extra step you can take to maximise the crispiness of the bacon.

"You can cook for 5 minutes, drain the fat, turn over and pop it back in for another 2 to 3 minutes for delicious crispy bacon," she reveals.

Of course, if you want extra crispy bacon, then you can cook it for another couple of minutes. But your bacon should be perfectly crispy after the first two steps.

"The benefit of this hack means you are always just a few minutes away from a bacon sandwich, which can heat up while you fry an egg," she says.
