A beloved I'm A Celebrity star received backing from supporters after he responded to a cruel body-shaming troll.
Nick Knowles returned to screens on Thursday (November 13) for a DIY SOS Children in Need special. During the programme, Nick, designer Gabrielle Blackman, and their committed team tackled one of their most demanding projects yet.
The crew aimed to completely transform facilities at The Joshua Tree-a charity providing tailored support to children and families facing childhood cancer.
Nevertheless, on Saturday (November 15), following the episode's broadcast, a nasty troll on X responded to a photograph of Nick from the show, writing: "Nick Knowles ate Pudsey!".
The remark caught Nick's attention, prompting him to respond swiftly. He replied: "I know you - you were trolling my wife when she was ill and we reported you to your employer.", reports the Mirror.
"Now you've watched a show about building a place for a children's cancer charity and decided to go for me being heavy. Do you think maybe you should get some counselling about this obsession?".
Supporters quickly rallied to Nick's defence-who featured on Strictly in 2024 and I'm A Celeb in 2018. One individual commented: "Just uncalled for. People on social media can be so cruel."
Another added: "I'm sure you thought this was funny but trying to body shame anyone is in very poor taste." A third wrote: "What an unkind and unnecessary comment to make."
Nick has had a challenging few months, with his wife Katie, 35, requiring emergency surgery due to complications following a hysterectomy. Katie underwent the operation after enduring years of pain from PCOS and endometriosis.
Speaking to The Sun, Nick said: "It was frightening. You just desperately want your wife to be well and healthy and not in pain, I don't think anything I ever go through will be a scratch on the surface of what she has been through in the last six months. She has been amazing.
"The whole thing of having a hysterectomy, especially at the age she is, being thrust into perimenopause and menopause that process is really brutal."
In September, Katie was readmitted to hospital when her stitches ruptured post-operation. A team of six surgeons operated on her.
Nick added: "For Katie to be three months into her recovery, and for it to fail and her to then have to go in for life-saving surgery. The emergency operation that was the one that was really frightening."
