Color-coded AQI scale

Google Maps has included a color-coded AQI scale on its platform to help users better understand the air quality in their city. These figures will be updated every hour and will be available on both the app and desktop. The AQI scale will run from 0 to 500. Here, the lower your city’s AQI number on the scale, the cleaner the air in your city.

  • 0–50: Good air (green)
  • 51–100: Satisfactory (yellow)
  • 101–200: Moderate to weak (orange)
  • 201–300: Bad (Red)
  • 301–400: Very Poor (Purple)
  • 401–500: Extremely Dangerous (Maroon)

With the help of these colors appearing on the scale on Google Maps, users can easily understand the AQI of their city and whether it is safe to go out in such conditions.
