Shubman Gill: The first test match of the test series between India and South Africa was played in Kolkata. The Indian team has suffered a crushing defeat in the match by 30 runs. Along with this, Indian captain Shubman Gill has also got injured in this match. During India’s batting on the second day of the Kolkata Test, Gill suffered a neck injury while playing a shot. After which Gill retired hurt and did not come out to bat in the second innings. Now a big update has come regarding his injury.
According to reports, Gill’s injury is not serious and it is not a fracture, but a strain or spasm in the neck. He has been discharged from the hospital on Sunday and has reached the team hotel. He is currently stable and is having less pain than before while walking or moving his neck. But there is still suspense on going to Guwahati with the team.
Even though Gill is now back in the hotel and his condition is improving, there has been no response from the team management regarding his playing in the second Test to be held in Guwahati. The BCCI medical team will keep an eye on the captain’s condition in the hotel. The second Test will be played from November 22, due to which he has very little time to get fully fit. After losing the first match of the series, it is very important for the Indian team to be fit for captain Gill.
