Stock Market News: Amidst hopes of a trade deal with the US, the Indian domestic stock market saw strength on Monday, the first trading day of the week. Thanks to strong performances by PSU banks and the auto sector, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 388 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 84,950.95. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 also rose 103.40 points, or 0.4 percent, to close at 26,013.45 .

Stocks that saw gains on Monday included Eternal (1.94%), Maruti Suzuki (1.34%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra Advance (1.11%), and Tech Mahindra (1.06%). Gains in these stocks helped the market maintain its upward trend.
While Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles fell 4.83 percent, UltraTech Cement fell 0.70 percent, Asian Paints fell 0.67 percent, Bharat Electronics fell 0.57 percent, and Tata Steel fell 0.43 percent.
