CM Yogi Adityanath filled SIR form: Chief Minister’s active participation in voter list reform campaign

CM Yogi Adityanath set an example of civic responsibility by filling the voter list revision form under the SIR process at Gorakhnath Temple. This process of the Election Commission will run from 28 October 2025 to 7 February 2026.

Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath filled the form and completed the SIR i.e. Special Intensive Revision process of the voter list in the meeting room of Gorakhnath Temple on Tuesday morning. They are registered voters in booth number 223 of the polling booth of Girls Primary School located near Jhulelal Temple of Gorakhpur City Assembly Constituency.

SIR campaign will run from 28 October 2025 to 7 February 2026

Election Commission of India has launched SIR campaign to make the voter list more accurate, updated and transparent. This process will run from 28 October 2025 to 7 February 2026. 12 states and union territories of the country including Uttar Pradesh are included in this.

BLO reached the temple and got the form

Under the SIR process in Gorakhpur, BLO reached Gorakhnath temple and provided the form to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister filled the form and handed it over to him. This step shows that keeping the voter list updated is not just a government process but the responsibility of every citizen.

Initiative to strengthen voter rights under Article 326 of the Constitution

The objective of SIR is to make the voter list pure and accurate, so that every eligible citizen can exercise his franchise properly. The participation of the Chief Minister gives a message to the public that keeping one's name correct in the voter list strengthens democracy and increases citizen participation.

Presence of officials and public representatives

During this, District Magistrate Deepak Meena, Tehsildar Sadar Gyan Pratap Singh, BJP Metropolitan Convener Rajesh Gupta, Municipal Corporation Board Deputy Chairman and Councilor Pawan Tripathi and GDA Board member Durgesh Bajaj were also present.
