Many households last completed Aadhaar-linked verification around 2013, and with more than a decade passed, updating the database has become essential. The good news is that the entire process is now fully digital, allowing ration card holders to complete e-KYC from home using their mobile phone.

Through NFSA, the government provides subsidised or free food grains to millions of beneficiaries. To ensure that only eligible families receive these benefits and prevent duplication or misuse, the government regularly updates verification guidelines.

The government has made the process easy by providing two dedicated mobile apps:

• Mera Ration App

• Aadhaar Face RD App

Follow the steps below to complete your e-KYC:

Download and install Mera Ration and Aadhaar Face RD apps on your smartphone.

Launch the app and allow it to access your location. Enter your location details as prompted.

Type in your Aadhaar number and fill in the displayed captcha. Complete the verification through the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

Once OTP verification is done, the system will show your Aadhaar-linked details on the screen.

Choose the Face e-KYC option to proceed.

Your camera will open automatically. Position your face properly and allow the camera to scan.

After scanning, submit the details. Your e-KYC will be processed and typically gets completed within seconds.

If you want to confirm your e-KYC status, follow these steps:

• Status: Y – Your e-KYC is successfully completed.

• Status: N – Your verification is still pending or incomplete.
