Pushpalatha mother of Kannada superstar Yash has filed a police complaint accusing film promoter Harish Arasu of cheating her out of about Rs 65 lakh. She says the money was meant for promoting her debut production Kothalavadi but the promoter neither carried out the agreed publicity nor returned the funds. What is the entire matter? In her statement to the High Grounds Police Station Bengaluru Pushpalatha explained that she hired Harish Arasu’s PR team for Rs 23 lakh to handle the film’s promotion. He received Rs 10 lakh on 18 May 2025 and another Rs 5 lakh on 21 May 2025. Later he allegedly collected an additional Rs 24 lakh through different channels using the film’s brand name bringing the total misused amount to Rs 6487700 which includes Rs 4 lakh in cash for print ads. Despite taking the money no promotional work was done and the film’s release on 1 August 2025 suffered heavily. The trailer was launched on 23 July but Yash himself had to spend Rs 2175000 from his pocket because Harish failed to deliver any publicity. When Pushpalatha confronted him Harish allegedly threatened her demanded Rs 27 lakh back and spread defamatory remarks online. She also claims actors Mahesh Guru and Swarnalatha (Rannayak) posted negative comments under Harish’s influence harming her reputation. Authorities have registered an FIR at High Grounds Police Station and are expected to question all accused.
