Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur gets heaps of praise from the Chief of Army Staff General at special screening

On the eve of the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of Rezang La General Upendra Dwivedi Chief of Army Staff (COAS) attended a special screening of Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming war film 120 Bahadur. The event organized by Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios in Delhi was also attended by senior military officers brigadiers major generals and their families.

After the screening General Dwivedi praised the movie calling it a heartfelt tribute to the 120 soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment who fought to the last man in the 1962 battle. He said “It has everything – emotions valour team spirit. It also talks about respect to the enemy because we always try to help you because we always fight dharamyudh and we always give respect.”
He added that the Chinese soldiers showed respect to the fallen Indian heroes highlighting the film’s message of honour and sacrifice. The Army Chief commended the makers for portraying the bravery of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati played by Farhan Akhtar and the collective heroism of the 120 men.

120 Bahadur is directed by Rajneesh Razy Ghai and is set to release in theatres on 21 November 2025. It also marks a historic first as it will be screened across 800 defence cinema halls letting soldiers and their families in remote areas watch the tribute to their comrades.
The story follows the Battle of Rezang La where 120 soldiers of Charlie Company 13 Kumaon Regiment fought a massive Chinese force at 16000 ft in sub‑zero conditions. Out of 120 114 laid down their lives and the survivors later recounted the fierce resistance.
Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati the fearless leader while the cast includes Raashii Khanna Sparsh Walia Vivaan Bhatena Dhanveer Singh Digvijay Pratap Ankit Siwach and others. The film was shot on location in Ladakh at altitudes of 14000 ft giving an authentic feel of the harsh terrain.
