IND A vs SA A 3rd Unofficial ODI: Ishan Kishan and Ayush Badoni’s fifties go in vain, South Africa beat India by 73 runs

South Africa A ended their tour with a strong 73-run win over India A in the third and final one-day match at Niranjan Shah Stadium on Wednesday. The visitors built a huge 241-run opening partnership between centurions Lhuandre Pretorius and Rivaldo Moonsamy to reach 325/6 and then their bowlers restricted India A to 252.
This win prevented a clean sweep for India A who still won the series 2-1.
South Africa A’s top order batted excellently after being sent in. Pretorius scored a rapid fifty in 39 balls and went on to reach his century in 98 balls hitting three consecutive sixes off Ayush Badoni in the 35th over. He finished with 123 runs off 98 balls including nine fours and six sixes.
Moonsamy steadied the innings before accelerating reaching his hundred in 123 balls and finishing with 107 off 130 balls. Prasidh Krishna eventually ended the partnership in the 38th over by dismissing both openers. Delano Potgieter’s quick 30 off 15 balls helped South Africa A reach 325/6—a total enough to secure victory.
Chasing 326 India A started well through Ruturaj Gaikwad but lost wickets at regular intervals. Abhishek Sharma fell to Tshepo Moreki captain Tilak Varma was bowled for 11 and Gaikwad’s promising innings ended when Bjorn Fortuin dismissed him. Riyan Parag also fell after a brisk start leaving India A in trouble at 82/4.
The only significant partnership came from Ayush Badoni and Ishan Kishan who added 88 runs together. Kishan scored 53 while Badoni made a fluent 66. However leg-spinner Nqaba Peter turned the game by dismissing both batters quickly finishing with figures of 4-48. From 170/5 India A collapsed and never got close to the target despite late hitting from Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar.
