Google recently announced many of its new technical updates in the ‘Safe and Trusted AI’ event held in Delhi. In this event, the company especially introduced new measures to protect people from fraud in a smart way by connecting them with financial and digital security. Google said that now the facility of real-time scam detection during calls will soon be available on Pixel devices.

This feature will be based on Gemini Nano AI, which will analyze suspicious patterns in the phone itself and if any fraud in a call is detected, an alert will be sent to the user immediately. There will be no audio recording in this process nor will any data be sent to Google’s servers. This ensures both privacy and security of the users.

Apart from this, Google also announced new security measures for financial apps like Google Pay, Paytm and Navi. Instead of SMS OTP, a new technology called ePNV will now be used, which will make the transaction and identification process more secure. The company says that this step has been taken to make digital financial transactions easy and reliable.

Google also promoted the SynthID AI watermarking detection tool. This tool will help in identifying fake or AI generated content in the content available on the internet. Through this, children, youth and elderly will be protected from online fraud and fake content.

In this event, Google said that the correct and safe use of AI technology is important not only for security but also to improve the digital experience of users. With AI based real-time scam detection, users will be able to immediately know whether the caller is a fraud. This feature will be especially helpful for those who are not cautious while doing financial transactions or are easily cheated.

Google officials also clarified that these new features will not require any additional setup. All updates will be installed directly on Pixel devices and users will be able to make secure transactions with a seamless experience. This effort to make security measures smart and interactive with AI technology will give a new direction to digital security in India.

The company says that fraud in the digital world is constantly changing and through new AI tools users will be able to meet rapidly changing technological challenges. This initiative by Google will give a new look to financial apps and call security and make digital transactions and online communication more secure in the future.

In this way, instead of OTP, users will be protected from fraud with ePNV technology and AI based scam detection features. Also, SynthID AI watermarking tool will help in identifying fake content online. This step is a major initiative of Google towards secure technology in Digital India.
