A beloved news anchor has died after a battle with Parkinson's Disease. Bud Elliot worked for KSEE24, an NBC affiliate in the United States, in two stints: first, from 1987 to 2007, and then again in 2012, before retiring in 2014. He died at the age of 76, and his death was confirmed in a news segment on Tuesday this week. On Instagram, the news station KSEE24 paid tribute to Bud Elliott with: "We look back on the legacy of one of our former news anchors, Bud Elliott. He worked at a news station in Denver, Richmond and even CNN before he made his way to Fresno in 1987. He worked alongside Faith Sidlow, Stefani Booroojian and Aj Fox for years before retiring in 2014 after doctors diagnosed him with Parkinson's disease.
"While Elliott passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, he leaves behind a longtime legacy that rests in the hearts of his viewers and beloved colleagues." His co-morning anchor Faith Sidlow said: "He was always very objective, not biased. And he was just his personality came across when he did his stories."
Joey Horta wrote on Facebook: "Bud Elliott was a solid journalist. I grew up watching Bud anchor KSEE 24 News and decades later when I joined the station he was a welcoming presence, an example to follow, an honor to fill-in for, and a down to earth guy. Rest in peace, Bud."
Katherine Phillips penned: "Longtime KSEE24 News anchor Bud Elliott passed away at the age of 76. He had lived with Parkinson's disease for over a decade. He was a staple on our KSEE24 Sunrise show and our evening news desk."
A fan also said on Facebook: "I am so sorry he passed away. My condolences to all of you and you're viewers on bud Elliott and his family. May he rest in peace."
Another also said: "oh my...this one hurts. As a director, I worked with many news anchors through the years, but Bud was different. He had a marvelous sense of humor, he loved his family dearly, he was a real journalist...I could go on and on. May the peace that only God can give be with his wife and grown children."
A third person remarked: "I used to watch Bud Elliot in the mornings with Stephanie Booroojian. The TV would be on in the background while I got ready for work, and I'd catch the local news and weather. I'm saddened to hear of his passing, but grateful knowing he was a Christian and is now with the Lord."
