As soon as winter starts, the problem of cold and cough becomes most common. Cold air, weakening immunity and sudden changes in weather make the body fall ill quickly. However, by adopting some easy and indigenous tips, you can protect yourself from cold to a great extent.
If you want that your condition does not get worse this winter and you feel active, fit and energetic every day, then some small habits can help you a lot. Just a little caution and proper care will keep you away from cough and cold in this season.
Just wearing heavy clothes is not enough in winter. Many times people leave their ears, neck and legs open, due to which cold quickly enters the body. Always keep your head, ears and feet properly covered. Do layering so that the body remains warm.
To avoid cold and cough, it is important to have strong immunity. Include ginger, garlic, turmeric, basil, honey and fruits rich in Vitamin C in your diet. These maintain warmth in the body and help in fighting bacteria. Eating these things will not only protect you from the problem of cold and cough, but your body will also remain healthy.
A major cause of cold and cough is that viruses enter the body through hands. Therefore, keep washing hands from time to time and use sanitizer if necessary.
Too dry air increases the problem of throat irritation and nasal congestion. If possible, use a humidifier in the house or keep a vessel filled with water in the room so that humidity is maintained.
Laziness increases in winter, but walking for a while, doing yoga or stretching every day keeps the body active and also increases immunity.
Mix ginger juice and honey in equal quantity and take it twice a day. It reduces swelling of the throat and gives relief from cough. Boil 5–6 basil leaves in water, add some honey if desired. The properties present in basil provide relief from sore throat and blocked nose.
