New Delhi: Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025. The 25-year-old walked the stage for the finale in her evening and heels early in the pageant, after being berated by the Thai pageant director.
India’s Manika Vishwakarma gets eliminated in the Top 12 round, leaving us in pursuit of Kaur Sandhu.
For this year’s pageant, Sania Nehwal from India is also on the panel of judges. The other contestants on the list included Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Guadeloupe, Thailand, Malta, Cote D’Ivoire, Puerto Rico, China, the Philippines, and Venezuela.
Miss Universe Fatima Bosch outshone 100 contestants to be the 74th Miss Universe, while Thailand’s Praveenar Singh took the first runner-up crown. The reigning Miss UNiverse, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark, passed down her crown to Fatima during the finale results. Bosch’s win marks a great moment for Mexico, as she brings back home the title after five years of Andrea Meza’s victory in 2020.
Fatima Bosch Fernandez from Villahermosa in Tabasco is known for her love and empathy towards animals. At a young Fatima was diagnosed with ADHD, dyslexia and hyperactivity, but she didn’t give up and turned her weaknesses into strengths which helped her today achieve the tag.
Studied at the school of Fashion and Apparel Design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and later she refined her skills at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy. Fatima has a sense of turning sustainable materials into art and creative pieces, and uses only discarded materials, transforming waste into purposeful art designs. She began her journey towards being in a pageant in 2018, where she won the Flor de Oro crown in Tabasco.
Belonging to a high-profile family, Fatima has Mexican political roots, public services and pageantry. Her father, Bernardo Bosch Hernandez, is an engineer by profession and public servant. Her mother, Vanessa Fernandez Balboa, is a part of the family of beauty queens, letting Fatima follow the traditions of the family.
