In 2024 filmmaker Farah Khan ventured into the world of YouTube and quickly became a sensation with her engaging vlogs. Her fun and relatable content not only earned her a massive audience but also turned her cook Dilip into an unexpected online star. In a recent conversation on YouTube with Soha Ali Khan Farah hinted at the impressive income she now earns from the platform. Motivation Behind Starting YouTube After completing the script for her next film Farah realised she would have to wait at least a year before production could begin. With her team repeatedly urging her to explore YouTube she eventually decided to give it a try. Another strong push came from the rising cost of higher education as her children will soon be heading to university—a factor that motivated her to use the platform as a way to support their college fund. Choosing Food Content and Early Success Farah revealed that she chose to focus on food-related content which led her to bring Dilip into the videos and write humorous punchlines for him. She shared that by her second vlog she had already earned the Silver Play Button. The demarcation that this one is an A-lister and the other one is tacky—I used to hate it.” Celebrity Vlogs and Dilip’s Rise to Fame Farah’s vlogs offer viewers a look inside celebrity homes where she cooks special dishes with them in their kitchens. Alongside the recipes she gives house tours and engages in fun conversations centred around food. The playful back-and-forth between Farah and her cook Dilip has become a highlight of the series making him a social media favourite. Farah even revealed in one vlog that she has increased Dilip’s salary since their YouTube journey began.
