The IPL 2026 mini-auction is just a few months away. The player market will be thriving, and IPL franchises will invest heavily to acquire strong players. Defending champions RCB will also be looking to add some promising players to the auction. Last season's winners, RCB, may also make some changes to their team to maintain their dominance in the next season. In this report, we've highlighted five players RCB could target in the auction.
All eyes will be on Finn Allen
New Zealand's explosive opener Finn Allen could be a strong option for RCB. He has scored 1,285 runs in 52 T20 International innings, averaging 25 and boasting an impressive strike rate. Allen's aggressive batting style makes him the perfect backup opening partner to Virat Kohli and Phil Salt. His ability to hit fours and sixes with ease could help RCB find a good rhythm from the start and maintain a steady run rate throughout the match.
All eyes will be on Sikandar Raza
Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza could also prove to be a valuable addition to RCB. Raza, a top all-rounder in ODIs, has also performed exceptionally well in T20 cricket. With over 2,000 runs and nearly 100 wickets in T20 Internationals, he has gained considerable experience in franchise leagues around the world.
Will RCB bet on Pathirana?
The team is looking for a replacement for Lungi Ngidi. From new-ball bowlers to old-ball bowlers, there are many options available. It will depend on RCB who they choose. Mathisha Pathirana may prove to be too expensive, but if Pathirana is within RCB's budget, the team will definitely invest in him.
Will Prithvi Shaw be bid on?
The team will be looking for an aggressive Indian opening backup. Shaw's IPL experience and aggressive play make him an attractive option, and RCB could try to acquire him at a low price. Shaw went unsold last season, but he could be a target for teams in this year's auction.
All eyes will be on Gerald Coetzee
After releasing Lungi Ngidi, RCB needs a high-quality overseas fast bowler as a backup/alternative for Josh Hazlewood. South Africans like Gerald Coetzee or Anrich Nortje could be useful in the death overs. RCB could consider these two bowlers in the auction.
