A "masterpiece" miniseries is hailed by fans as "incredible" with "brave storytelling". WandaVision is a Marvel Studios-produced TV series in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It features superheroes Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), a couple with secret powers living in a New Jersey suburb.

The surreal narrative initially unfolds like a series of sitcoms spanning various decades from the 1950s onwards. But while Wanda and Vision appear to be living the "American Dream", they slowly learn their idyllic white-picket-fence existence isn't quite what it seems.

One fan took to IMDb to shower the series with praise, calling it an "unexpected masterpiece".

They wrote: "I'm not a very big fan of MCU. I like it, but not so much. But WandaVision is just incredible.

"This miniseries made me think that Wanda is the best Avenger. What I like the most is how much dark this show is."

Another fan said the series "gets better with every episode" while they waited with "bated breath" for the fifth installment.

Others suggested they weren't sold on the show until the fourth episode, and then they were hooked. "I had basically given up, but forced myself to watch the 4th outing," one wrote, adding: "Oh boy was it worth the wait."

"It went from a joke to a solid 10 in a couple of minutes. So yes, I think it's a dangerous game to play by the studio, even though you somehow felt that this couldn't be 'it'."

Another echoed their comments, saying: "Really brave storytelling to have Wanda's world slowly unravel the way it does.

"It requires a lot of patience from the audience, but have the patience."

The show has a 7.9% score on the site, as well as a 92% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, which reflects the percentage of approved critics who have given it a positive review.

WandaVision is streaming now on Disney+.
