Ganga Expressway update: In a significant infrastructure push for the state of Uttar Pradesh the state is on the verge of a major infrastructure milestone that promises to redefine connectivity across the state. The highly anticipated Ganga Expressway of Uttar Pradesh is a massive 594-km corridor which will be linking Meerut to Prayagraj. Nearing its final completion stages the expressway is set to become fully operational early next year. With the construction deadline set for November the project has moved at a rapid pace. The first sector from Meerut to Badaun is already complete including the resolution of critical railway track work at Simbhaoli. Only six percent of the work remains on the Unnao-Haldwani segment. Out of a staggering 1498 major structures planned for the route 1497 have been finished.

Expected to give a massive boost to the connectivity of the state the engineering marvel is built at a cost of Rs 36230 crore. Spanning 12 districts including Hapur Bulandshahr Hardoi and Pratapgarh the expressway is more than just a road; it is an economic corridor
Holding strategic military importance the expressway features industrial corridors on both sides to boost local development. Commuters can expect a seamless drive with speeds reaching 120 km/h. A 3.5-km airstrip in Jalalabad (Shahjahanpur) is ready for fighter jet landings with similar emergency landing capabilities being developed at four other locations.
