Dharmendra's prayer meet to be held today in Mumbai

The film industry is still mourning the death of legendary actor Dharmendra. The 89-year-old star passed away on Monday at his residence due to age-related issues.

Despite his health struggles, he remained active in his career and was looking forward to the release of Ikkis with Agastya Nanda.

Now, a prayer meet has been organized in his memory. Here are the details.

'Celebration of Life' prayer meet at Taj Lands End
Event details

The prayer meet for Dharmendra, titled Celebration of Life, will take place on Thursday (November 27) at Mumbai's Taj Lands End in Bandra.

The event is scheduled to run from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.

According to reports, acclaimed singer Sonu Nigam will perform songs associated with the late actor during the gathering.

Last project

Before the release of Ikkis, director Sriram Raghavan spoke to NDTV about working with Dharmendra.

He said, "It was somewhat demanding, so he would often feel fatigued... And when the cameras started rolling, he was simply enchanting. He was extraordinary."

The film also stars Nanda and is set to release on December 25, 2025.

Dharmendra's funeral and family details
Funeral

Dharmendra, who was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India for the Bikaner constituency in Rajasthan from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a Padma Bhushan awardee, was cremated without state honors.

Reports suggested that his funeral was expected to include a gun salute due to his contribution to Indian cinema. However, the Deol family decided against it.

He is survived by his wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and children Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, Ajeita, Esha, and Ahana.
