The girl’s father made a complaint in August 2021, claiming that his little daughter had left for school at 7 a.m. but had not returned home by nightfall. When he arrived to the school, he was told that she had applied for leave because she was feeling ill and had gone early. Her family started looking for her when she still hadn’t returned, but they couldn’t find her.

Police didn’t find the youngster until December 20, 2021, at the Aligarh train station, over four months after she vanished. After being arrested right away, she was eventually reunited with her family.

The child said in her court appearance that the guy had stopped her on her way home from school. “On the way, I ran into him. He escorted me someplace while wearing a scarf over my face.

I was held in a room by him. He sexually raped me, beat me, and mistreated me. For almost three and a half months, I was detained there. He took me to the train station later. He fled when he noticed the cops. I was apprehended and my statement was recorded by the police,” she claimed.

A case was filed under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abduction for forced marriage or illicit intercourse), 376 (rape), and the Pocso Act based on the complaint and the survivor’s evidence. A chargesheet was then filed once the accused was taken into custody. The ADGC said that the court found the defendant guilty on Tuesday after reviewing the evidence and witness accounts.
