Popular Pakistani digital creator Azlan Shah recently sparked a major social media controversy. He announced on Instagram that he was entering into a second marriage and requested that his family not be involved in the matter. He also asked followers to pray for him.
Azlan Shah is known for making vlogs featuring dangerous animals. He married viral social media influencer and dentist Dr. Wareesha Javed Khan in 2022. The couple had gained public attention because of their unique wedding moments, including Azlan gifting his wife a donkey. Their wedding was widely covered in the media, and the couple became a popular topic on social platforms.
Azlan’s announcement about remarriage immediately caused outrage among social media users. Many accused him of spreading false news for attention. Users criticized him for misleading the public and using personal matters to generate views. Some expressed anger, while others used sarcasm and harsh language to react to the post.
Following the backlash, Azlan released a clarification video. He explained that the announcement was misleading and that he was not marrying anyone else. Instead, he was renewing his marriage vows with Wareesha Javed as their third wedding anniversary approached. He admitted that the way he presented the news caused confusion and misunderstanding.
Wareesha also confirmed the clarification. She said the announcement was intended to celebrate their anniversary and not to suggest a second marriage. She apologized for the misunderstanding and emphasized that Azlan was not marrying anyone else.
Despite the clarification, social media users continued to criticize the couple. Many called it a “cheap publicity stunt” and questioned the motives behind the announcement. Some said that the couple uses personal matters to attract attention whenever online engagement drops. Others expressed disappointment, saying the act reflected a hunger for fame rather than authentic content
