We take care of many things in our daily life, but there is one organ which silently performs many important functions of our body, that is the liver. Every year around 20 lakh people in the world lose their lives due to liver diseases. There are many reasons, excessive alcohol consumption, viral hepatitis And NAFLD is a rapidly increasing disease in India, which is being found in every third child and adult.

The special thing about liver is that if the disease is caught on time, it can heal itself again. But the problem is that we often see the initial signs, but we are not able to understand them, because these signs are visible on our skin and we connect them with some other common problem.

Yellowing skin and eyes (jaundice)

Suppose, one day you look in the mirror and feel that your face looks a little pale or that the whites of the eyes have turned slightly yellow. Often people associate it with dust, fatigue or changing skin tone. But this could be the biggest sign that the liver is not able to clear bilirubin. This is an early sign of hepatitis, bile duct blockage or serious liver disease.

spider-like threads on the skin

Have you ever noticed a pattern like small red threads on your skin? People mistake it for age, sun damage or general skin problems. But these spider angiomas form due to hormonal imbalance in the liver, especially in alcohol- liver damage or cirrhosis.

redness of palms

Redness of palms sometimes appears to be due to heat, detergent or some allergy. But when without any reason, dark red appears on the edges of the palms, especially near the thumb and little finger, then it is a symptom of increased estrogen in the body, which is caused by liver diseases.

Persistent itching that won’t stop

If there is continuous itching without any rash, allergy or skin dryness, and it increases at night, then do not take it lightly. This may be a sign that bile acids are accumulating in the blood, which is often part of an initial problem with the liver or bile duct.

dark spots on face, neck or armpits

Sometimes the skin suddenly starts turning black. Around the eyes, near the mouth or in the armpits. People think it is aging or pigmentation. But it can also be a sign of hormonal changes, insulin resistance and internal inflammation in the liver. All these signs are so mild in the beginning that people often ignore them. But these are the small changes that try to catch your attention before major liver damage occurs.
