Synopsis

Maruti Suzuki is launching its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, in India on December 2, 2025. Production has begun, with exports to Europe already underway. The e-Vitara will feature advanced technology and multiple battery options. Maruti Suzuki is also building a dedicated EV ecosystem to support the launch. The electric SUV is expected to be priced competitively.

Once launched, the car is expected to be pitted against the likes of Tata Curvv.ev, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF6, and Mahindra BE.6.
Maruti Suzuki is set to officially announce the launch of its first all-electric passenger vehicle, the e-Vitara, in India on December 2, 2025, marking the brand’s entry into the EV segment. The electric SUV is the first of four Maruti BEVs planned for launch by 2030.

Manufactured exclusively at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, the car maker reportedly plans to export e-Vitara as well. Exports to Europe began in August 2025, with shipments to the UK, Germany, France, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium. The model is expected to reach over 100 international markets, including Japan.

Maruti has already started production, with the first 6,000 units exported to Europe and the UK. Built on Suzuki’s new Heartect-e EV architecture, the SUV will be retailed via Nexa outlets.



Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Design & Interior Highlights


The e-Vitara follows Nexa’s Crafted Futurism theme, featuring Polyhedral Muscular stance, futuristic front fascia, 18-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED DRLs & LED projector headlamps, and premium detailing.

The cabin sports a dual-screen setup, consisting of a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other interior features include: ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, 10-way powered driver seat, twin-deck centre console, sunroof with fixed glass, and wireless charger.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Safety Features:

For safety and convenience, it has Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, 360-degree camera, TPMS, electric sunroof, Suzuki Connect, all-disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake. The e-Vitara is also the first Maruti model to offer seven airbags.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Battery Options & Claimed Range

Battery options include a 48.8 kWh battery pack and a 61.1 kWh battery pack (claimed range 500+ km on a single charge). Both versions drive the front wheels and support fast charging: 0–80% in 50 minutes via DC fast charger. Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer dedicated EV ecosystem featuring home-charging solutions and DC fast chargers at Nexa dealerships.

The e-Vitara uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 128 kW and 192.5 Nm. It comes with four drive modes — Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow — along with adjustable regenerative braking for one-pedal driving.

The SUV also gets adaptive grille shutters, thermal management, and a body structure made with over 50% advanced high-tensile steel, designed to endure temperatures from -30°C to 60°C.


How e Vitara Compares: Segment Rivals & Expected Price Range

The e-Vitara is expected to cost Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the car is expected to be pitted against the likes of Tata Curvv.ev, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF6, and Mahindra BE.6.

The SUV will be offered in 10 colour options and three variants.
