Filmmaker and music composer Palash Muchhal, who was admitted to hospital earlier this week after his wedding with India star batter Smriti Mandhana was postponed, has been discharged from a Gurugaon hospital. Muchhal was hospitalised shortly after Smriti Mandhana's father Shrinivas Mandhana was rushed to the hospital after he experienced heart attack like symptoms on November 23, just hours before the ceremony was scheduled to take place.

Palash Muchhal's health update

Doctors treating Palash Muchhal have now shared an update about his health, confirming that his episode was triggered by stress rather than a major cardiac complication, reports Times of India. The report states that Palash Muchhal first sought medical treatment at a hospital in Maharashtra's Sangli after he complained of chest discomfort. When his symptoms remained, he was taken to a facility in Mumbai where he arrived with severe chest pain, breathlessness and uneasiness.

“Palaash’s condition appears to be linked to stress-related distress rather than a serious cardiac event,” Dr Dipendra Tripathi, one of the senior doctors monitoring him, told Mid-Day. After Palash was admitted to SRV Hospital, he underwent standard cardiac evaluations, including an ECG and 2D echocardiography.

“While certain levels were found to be slightly elevated, there was no indication of a major cardiac or medical emergency. Oxygen therapy was started immediately as a basic line of treatment. After initial stabilisation, he was shifted to a general room and kept under observation,” the doctor added. Doctors also revealed that intense emotional pressure surrounding recent pre-marriage events with Smriti Mandhana likely triggered the episode. With supportive care and rest, his vitals and stress levels showed steady improvement.

Palash Muchhal advised three weeks of rest

Hospital authorities confirmed on Wednesday that Palaash has been discharged from hospital. He is stable and now recovering. He has been advised complete rest for at least three weeks to prevent recurrence of symptoms. The update comes shortly after news that Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was discharged from Sarvhit Hospital on Monday morning.

Smriti and Palash's wedding had come to an abrupt halt when Smriti’s father fell seriously ill just during the occasion. Further, the sudden turn of events sparked a lot of online speculation, followed by many rumours floating around, leading to a backlash against Palaash Muchhal. The singer was accused of cheating on Smriti, but nothing has been proven yet.
