If you keep small things in mind while buying local eggs, you can identify real and fake eggs.

According to Health Line, eggs contain many nutrients including vitamin A, folate, vitamin B5, vitamin B12, B2, phosphorus, selenium, vitamin D, B6, vitamin E, protein. If we talk about the price of local egg in the market, it is sold for 10 to 12 rupees, whereas the price of farm egg is almost half of this. Let us know how to identify real desi eggs and fake ones while buying eggs.

Check the texture of the peel

The texture of the peel of desi egg and farm egg is completely different. When you touch a local egg, its peel surface is slightly grainy, whereas the peel of a farm or fake egg will be completely smooth. Due to coloring the peel also gets shine. When you hit a local egg lightly with your fingernail, it sounds heavy as if it is completely filled with water inside, whereas a fake egg feels hollow, hence keep this in mind while buying a local egg.

What is the shape of the egg?

Generally, the size of a local egg is a little smaller than a farm egg, so when you are buying an egg, apart from the color, shine, texture of its shell, also see its shape. If it seems big to you then the egg shell may be colored.

Identify by smelling

You can also identify the local egg by smelling it. You will smell neutral in real eggs, whereas in fake eggs you may smell tea leaves or chemicals, because synthetic colors are also used. If you smell any kind of strange smell then do not buy the egg.

How to check at home

You can follow some simple tips to check fake egg at your home, like put the egg in hot water and leave it for some time, if color starts appearing in the water, then the egg is fake. On the other hand, if you break a local egg, its yolk is thick as well as yellow and is round in shape in a perfectly balanced manner, whose shape is not too big, whereas the yolk of a fake egg is light in colour. In this way you can identify real and fake desi eggs.
