LIC increased its stake in this Adani Group company, this stock has been trading flat for a month..

LIC, the country's largest insurance company, has increased its stake in two major companies. According to a Mint report, LIC has increased its stake in ACC Limited, the cement company of the Adani Group, to over 10%. LIC has also increased its stake in the state-owned company NBCC India to approximately 4.5%. In addition to ACC, LIC also holds stakes in several other Adani Group companies.

According to the report, LIC purchased 37,82,029 shares of ACC from the open market, representing 2.014% of the company's total equity. Following this purchase, LIC's total stake in ACC has increased to 1,98,97,064 shares, representing 10.596% of the company's paid-up share capital. LIC purchased these shares between May 20, 2025, and November 25, 2025. Previously, LIC held 16,115,035 shares in ACC, representing 8.582% of the company's total share capital.

Stake in NBCC
Similarly, LIC has also purchased 3,024,672 shares in the state-owned company NBCC (India). This represents 2.071% of the company's voting capital. Following this purchase, LIC's total stake in NBCC has reached 1,20,891,590 shares. LIC clarified that all these purchases were made through the market and did not involve preferential allotment, rights issue, or off-market transfer. LIC purchased these shares between April 25, 2018, and November 24, 2025.

ACC's stock has fallen by more than 15% in the past year. The stock has also fallen by more than 3% in the past six months. Although the stock has gained 3% in the past three months, it has remained flat in the past month. Over the past five years, the stock has returned a modest 9%. ACC shares fell marginally in today's trading.

Stock Movement
On the other hand, the stock of state-owned NBCC (India) has performed well. Over the past year, the stock has gained over 20%. Over the past six months, the stock has also gained over 2%. Over the past three months, the stock has returned nearly 20% and over the past month, it has gained 7%. Over the past five years, the stock has returned 581%. NBCC shares are trading marginally higher in today's trading.
