Google Maps has been updated to include Google Gemini, offering users improved navigation and voice control support across the platform.

Earlier this month, Google announced the availability of Google Gemini in Google Maps. Now, the company has begun rolling out Gemini to Maps. This will provide users with improved navigation modes, voice control, and traffic alerts within the app. The company believes that Gemini's arrival will give users complete control over the app and make it easier to find directions.

According to Google's official blog post, users will receive Gemini support in the same language and preferences as their phone. This will make it easier to search for locations on Maps and provide information with a single command.

The company further stated that users can activate Gemini in Google Maps by saying "Hey Google," allowing them to access trip-related information on Maps. Additionally, you can search for nearby restaurants, parking lots, EV charging stations, and petrol pumps by simply giving a command.

Access Report

According to Google, drivers will now be able to report roadblocks and accidents in Google Maps. This will benefit other users by alerting them to traffic before they begin navigation, allowing them to avoid heavily trafficked routes and reach their location via unimpeded routes.

Landmark Navigation Support in Maps

In addition to Gemini, Google has added landmark navigation and traffic alerts to Maps. With this, users will now receive instructions to "turn right after the petrol pump" instead of "turn left in 100 meters."

When will updated Maps be available?

The updated Google Maps is currently available to users in the US. In the coming months, Google Maps with Gemini support will be rolled out to other countries, including India, allowing everyone to access the updated features.
