CTET February 2026 notification released, exam to be held on February 8, online applications open

The CBSE has released the CTET February 2026 notification, opening the application process. Candidates can fill out the form online until December 18.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a major update regarding the CTET February 2026 exam. The board released the official notification on November 27, 2025, opening the online application process for this year's exam. Lakhs of candidates across the country, aspiring to become teachers in classes 1 to 8, will now be able to apply online from November 27 to December 18, 2025. This exam is conducted to determine eligibility for teacher recruitment, and its certificate is valid in various schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas.

The CTET exam will be held on February 8, 2026, in offline mode, in two shifts at various exam centers across the country. Paper-II will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while Paper-I will be held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. The duration of both papers will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

What are the eligibility requirements?

For Paper-I, candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 4-year B.El.Ed. degree. For Paper-II, a graduate degree is mandatory, along with a D.El.Ed. or B.Ed. degree.

What is the fee?

The application fee is determined by category and paper. General and OBC candidates will have to pay ₹1,000 for one paper and ₹1,200 for both papers, while SC/ST and differently-abled candidates will have to pay ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both papers. The last date for fee submission is also December 18, 2025.

CBSE has also released the complete timeline for the application process. Online applications will begin on November 27th and continue until 11:59 pm on December 18th. The correction window will be active between December 23rd and 26th. Admit cards will be issued two days before the exam.
