Cyber Security India: The Government of India has issued an important security warning to smartphone users across the country. This advisory is especially for all those people who DigiLocker Use the app. The government has alerted people about fake DigiLocker apps available on the App Store and Play Store. By sharing a post on the official X account of Digital India, users have been appealed to remain alert. The post clearly states that “Before downloading the app, please verify whether the app you are installing is genuine or not.”
This app is already present in the phones of many users, but the increasing number of fake apps has increased the danger. According to the government, fake apps mislead users and try to steal their personal data. In such a situation, it is important that you check whether you have uploaded your documents in the fake app by mistake.
The original DigiLocker app is a government initiative run under MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology). It provides citizens with a secure digital document wallet, in which important documents like PAN card, Aadhar card, driving license, vehicle registration and academic records are kept safe. If these sensitive documents go into any fake app, then there can be a serious threat to your privacy and security.
