This feature will completely change the status experience of the users. According to reports, the company is testing a new feature. Under this feature, users will be able to add emoji reaction stickers on their status photos and videos. With this new feature, users will be able to react to statuses like Instagram Stories in just one tap.

According to WABetaInfo, testers who have installed WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.35.10.70 through the TestFlight app have been given access to test the new feature. In this feature, users will be able to add any emoji to the status as a sticker. When a viewer sees your status, he will see that emoji sticker clearly on the screen. Most importantly, reactions shared by viewers will remain private. Only the user who posted the status will see these reactions. This privacy setup is similar to Instagram’s DM Reactions, but WhatsApp is trying to launch it in a simpler way.
The new feature is somewhat similar to Instagram Stories. Creators add emoji stickers to Instagram Stories to inspire followers to interact. WhatsApp also aims to make it more convenient for users to comment or react to statuses. Earlier, users had to swipe down to react to a status, after which a menu would open. But now the emoji will be directly on the content, which will significantly increase the possibility of interaction.
By default, WhatsApp displays the heart-eyes emoji. But users will be able to change this emoji as per their wish. That is, users can share a laughing emoji if the status is funny, or a clapping emoji for a motivational status, or a fire emoji for a big announcement. So every status will get a personalized touch according to the user’s feelings.
