In the last eight years, the visionary policies of the government have given a new direction to the economic and social situation of the state. Employment opportunities increased, youth got training and industries were encouraged. Women's participation has also increased rapidly. The biggest achievements of the state government include reducing the unemployment rate. While earlier the unemployment rate had reached 19%, now it has come down to just 2.4%. The government's employment policies, efforts to increase investment and skill development programs have given positive results across the state.
The state's GCC Policy 2025 is proving to be a milestone for employment growth. Under this policy, a target has been set to create more than two lakh new jobs. By creating a better environment for global companies, youth are increasingly getting opportunities for technical and high-level jobs. Along with this, UP Employment Mission has provided employment to 1.25 lakh people in just one year, due to which the pace of employment generation has further increased.
MSME sector has emerged as the strongest employment source in Uttar Pradesh. At present, more than 96 lakh MSME units are running in the state, which have generated more than 2 crore jobs. In the last one year alone, 18 lakh new jobs have been created in this sector. MSME is providing a strong base to the rural economy as well as providing huge opportunities for small and medium entrepreneurs.
Skill Development Mission has played an important role in training the youth as per the requirement of the industries. Under the mission, 14 lakh youth were trained and out of these, 5.66 lakh youth got direct employment. This provided skilled manpower to the industries and a large number of youth got employment at the local level.
The increase in women employment has emerged as a strong example of social change in the state. Women's participation in industrial employment has reached 25%. Due to this, the economic condition of families has been strengthened, gender equality has increased and the social empowerment of women has increased rapidly.
Employment Mahakumbh 2025 and various government financial schemes not only provided employment to the youth but also guaranteed them minimum wages and social security. This has increased transparency, opportunities and stability in the job market. A better balance has been established between industries and the workforce.
The most positive impact of these efforts is visible in rural areas. Due to increase in employment opportunities, people are getting work in their own villages and areas. There has been a decline in migration towards cities. The increasing employment participation of women has strengthened the economic condition of rural families.
