The total spectator capacity of the stadium is 65 thousand. Chhattisgarh Cricket Association had claimed to sell 46 thousand tickets online. The entire income from its gate fees goes to Chhattisgarh Cricket Association.
According to reports, the stadium remained 90% full during the match. That means about 58 thousand 500 spectators came to watch the match. If the average ticket price by adding different categories of stand tickets is considered to be around Rs 3,500, then the state cricket association will get around Rs 8 crore. This also includes the hosting fee of Rs 1.62 crore received by BCCI.
A 30-year lease MoU has been signed between Chhattisgarh Government and Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association (CSCS) for the operation, upgradation and management of Raipur Stadium. Recently, after the approval from the Cabinet, Sports Director Tanuja Salam and Cricket Association Directors Baldev Singh Bhatia and Vijay Shah signed the agreement. Under which CSCS will pay Rs 1.5 crore to the government every year. This will increase every three years. Apart from this, an additional amount of Rs 20 lakh will be given on international matches and Rs 30 lakh will be given on IPL matches.
Generally, there is a 70:30 model of ticket revenue between the cricket board and the state associations. On this basis, the share of the state union has been estimated. Fees are earned from tickets and vendors and a portion of that revenue is shared with the cricket association. Even before this, for the match held in 2023, the hosting fee of about Rs 1.7 crore was given to the state association by BCCI. Whereas the Sangh has said that the income earned from tickets will be spent on all items. Apart from this, BCCI has complete control over the earnings from broadcasting and central sponsorship.
