Linda Robson has shared a heartwarming update on her long-standing friend Pauline Quirke as her former Birds Of A Feather co-star continues to live with dementia.

The duo became inseparable at the tender age of 10 and went on to enjoy a successful career together, both on screen and on stage.

They are well known for their roles as sisters Sharon and Tracey in the popular sitcom Birds Of A Feather, but Pauline has now stepped away from acting due to her 2021 diagnosis.

It comes as no surprise that Linda, aged 67, is committed to maintaining their lifelong friendship as she opened up on their recent reunion following the star's diagnosis.

Appearing on BBC Breakfast on Monday (December 8) morning alongside Pauline's son Charlie, the Loose Women star confirmed that her co-star is "happy".

Linda recently visited her at home, where Pauline's family, including her husband Steve and their children, continues to support her daily.

Speaking in the pre-recorded interview about whether she has seen Pauline, Linda said: "Yes, about three or four weeks ago at a restaurant.

"It was so lovely, I was so happy because she was happy. She was just giggling, and just really enjoying it, she ate everything as well. I left there happy because she was happy, and I knew they were looking after her really well."

Meanwhile, Pauline's son Charlie is now turning heartbreak into hope as he retraces her steps on an emotional trek to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK, which exists to find a cure for dementia.

Charlie will walk 140km from today (December 8) to Friday (December 12), visiting significant places from Pauline's life before reaching the family home in time for Christmas.

Every step of the way, the 31-year-old will be driven by memories of his mum. And by raising funds for crucial research, he'll bring hope of a cure home to other families affected by dementia.

Charlie started his walk live on air in Chigwell, surrounded by his loved ones, including Linda and his dad, Steve Sheen. Ahead of his trek, Dad, Steve, said: "I am just so proud of him. We are here to support him, and we are just very, very proud."

"I'm really excited to support Alzheimer's Research UK in this way, because it's what my mum wants me to do," Charlie previously said.

He added, "he's such a selfless person, and she's delighted that I'm doing this to help others. I'm doing it for her, and for every family that has experienced the devastation of dementia, because we must do all we can to find a cure.'
