A The Only Way is Essexcast member has revealed they're quitting the programme after four years in a heartfelt message to supporters.

Roman Hackett initially appeared on the reality series in 2021when he was just 18, establishing himself as one of the programme's youngest participants at that time.

Throughouthis TOWIE journey, he's found himself embroiled in drama, particularly surrounding his tumultuous romantic entanglements and dating escapades. But tonight, on Tuesday (December 9), he revealed a major professional decision as the personality confirmed his departure from the beloved ITV programme.

In his announcement to followers, he explained his desire to "focus on myself" alongside pursuing fresh career opportunities.

Sharing via Instagram stories, Roman penned: "Life update.... I've chosen to step away from TOWIE to focus on myself and the next stage of my career.", reports OK!.

He continued: "The journey's been mad in the best way, and I appreciate every moment and everyone who's been part of it and for everyone that's supported me!".

"Thank you again for the constant support. Big love always. Onwards and upwards."

Roman's present partner Matilda Draper became part of The Only Way is Essex cast earlier this year following her rise to prominence on ITV2's popular dating programme Love Island in 2024.

The pair have seemingly grown stronger since making their relationship official last year, even creating their own podcast venture whilst sharing adorable updates across their social platforms. She hasn't confirmed whether she'll be departing too, but rumours are swirling.

Matilda hasn't yet addressed the situation on her personal social media channels. The pair have never shied away from displaying their romance online, establishing themselves as one of the programme's most discussed, and arguably beloved, couples.

Roman was candid about his emotions during a Bali getaway that Matilda couldn't join, stating: "I'm out here without Matilda, which is upsetting, but I'm having fun with the boys."

When pressed about whether he missed Dan or Matilda more, Roman responded: "I'm more sad about Matilda not being here. Sorry Dan! But my girl comes first."

This revelation emerges mere hours following The Only Way is Essex's Christmas special broadcast on December 8, which delivered plenty of theatrics for audiences.
