India Post has launched the Digipin feature, which will speed up and improve parcel delivery. Digipin is a 10-digit alphanumeric code that generates a code based on your location.

Whenever we send a parcel or courier to an address or location, it's essential to know the PIN code for that location. PIN code errors can often result in your parcel being delivered to the wrong address. To address this problem and improve the speed and accuracy of parcel delivery, India Post launched the Digipin feature on May 27, 2025. Through this feature, a PIN will be generated based on your address and location, and can be used to accurately track your address, whether it's home or office.

India Post launched the Digital Postal Index Number (DIGIPIN) feature for its customers. In this era of Digital India, the government is continuously taking steps to make it easier for people to access government services, address identification, and location-based services. The Digital Postal Index Number (DIGIPIN) is a 10-digit alphanumeric code that generates a PIN based on your location. This code represents locations within a 4-meter × 4-meter grid, allowing for precise location tracking.

How to find out your area's DIGIPIN?

Anyone can easily find their area's DIGIPIN.

Visit the official website of DigiYatra / India Post / Digital Address System at https://dac.indiapost.gov.in/mydigipin/home.

When the map opens, pinpoint your home/location.

Your unique DIGIPIN will be generated upon setting the location.

In many places, Panchayats/Municipal Corporations are also issuing DigiPINs for their areas. You can also obtain them from the local portal or Citizen Service Center.

The DigiPIN feature is completely location-based, so you need to provide your address or a precise point on the map.
